Frequently Asked Questions
What is permanent jewelry?
Permanent jewelry is a custom fit bracelet, ring, anklet, or necklace that’s welded on instead of clasped. The tiny “sparx” (weld) creates a seamless weld on you so you can wear every day! No clasps, no fuss of taking on & off or having too much loose chain
How does the welding process work?
We use a quick, painless micro welding technique. You’ll feel nothing but see a zap of light (safely through lenses) as we seal a jump ring to close your chain. It takes just a few seconds and leaves no heat on your skin.
Do you use argon gas?
Yes. We use a small amount of argon gas during the welding process.
Argon is an inert, non-toxic gas that creates a protective shield around the weld. This shield keeps oxygen away so the metal fuses cleanly and securely, giving you a smooth, strong, tarnish resistant weld.
The amount used is minimal and fully contained, making it completely safe for you and our team.
Can I remove it?
Yes. While designed to be long lasting. You can snip the jump ring with scissors or wire cutters anytime. If you’d like it back on later, bring the chain to the studio and we can weld it back on.
Do you do clasps?
Yes, While we specialize in permanent welds, we happily create clasped pieces for anyone who prefers the flexibility or wants a removable option. Versatility matters! This allows a more fitted and personalized clasped piece.
Can I customize my own charm or connector?
Yes! The possibilities are endless. From engraved initials and dates to unique shapes and mixed metals, we love helping you design a Sparx piece that’s one-of-a-kind.
How long does permanent jewelry last?
With everyday wear, chains can last years. Lifestyle, friction, and care matter. Think of it like a favorite ring or bracelet. If life happens, our Evermore Sparx Protection plan has you covered.
What if my chain breaks or stretches?
We stand behind our welds. If it was our weld that failed, we’ll reweld it at no charge. If the chain itself breaks, we offer quick repairs or replacements at a small materials fee.
Do you have warranty?
Yes! Every piece comes with The Sparx Promise (free rewelds on our pieces purchased from us). You can upgrade to Evermore Protection Plan for added coverage like accidental damage protection and free cleanings. Ask us for the full details when you book or see our warranty page.
If the Welds Last, Why Do I Need Protection?
Our welds are made to last. We use top quality equipment and a secure weld process to ensure your piece stays strong.
